Dr. Jay Seitz Has Expertise in Diverse Areas Of Neuropsychology

Dr. Jay Seitz is a highly accomplished neuropsychologist running a private practice – Midtown East Neuropsychology, PLLC. Here, he provides a wide variety of Neuropsychological Services which includes Diagnosis, Testing, Evaluation, and Treatment. He has more than two decades of experience in the field of clinical neuropsychology/psychology at over 20 hospitals, medical clinics, organizations, and institutions.

In all these years of clinical experience, Dr. Jay Seitz has worked in various hospitals, clinics and private settings with children and adolescents with a wide range of psychiatric and neurological/neuropsychological disorders including autistic spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, and problems with attention and concentration. He has also worked with adults and late-age adult patients with various dementias (e.g., Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, Pick’s disease) and other medical and psychiatric conditions (e.g., anxiety, mood disorders). These include severe migraines, multiple sclerosis, cerebellar agenesis, and other demyelinating disorders, as well as patients with cerebral vascular disorders including stroke and ischemia, Parkinson’s disease, traumatic brain injury, and brain tumors. 

Dr. Seitz has taught over 25 different courses at the bachelors, masters, and doctoral levels including courses in neuroscience and neuropsychology, neuropsychological and psychological assessment, cognitive psychology, psychopathology, learning disabilities, psychoneuroendocrinology, theories of intelligence, embodied cognition, consciousness, psychology of the arts, personality, as well as statistical and experimental methods.  He was previously on the doctoral and graduate faculties of Adelphi University and the undergraduate and graduate faculties of New York University and City University of New York (CUNY, tenured 2001).
Besides this, Dr.Jay Seitz has a longstanding and strong interest in the arts.  He was vice president of the Board of Directors of the newly founded American Dance Museum (ADaM) and previously on the Board of Directors of the Dalcroze School of Music (now part of Lucy Moses School), both in New York City.  He has formerly studied both music (contrabass, piano) and dance (choreography). He also has a deep interest in the uses and abuses of power and has written on the uses and misuses of government propaganda during wartime.

When he is not busy with treating patients, he likes to spend his leisure time cycling, mountain biking, hiking in the desert and mountains in the Southwest (US), fitness (working out at the gym, running, yoga), and writing.
